UPDATE NOTICE TO MEMBERS REGARDING CORONAVIRUS - June 2021
HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICY STATEMENT:
IBEX Canoe club Brixham is strongly committed to encouraging our members to take part, but the health, well-being and safety of each individual is always our paramount concern. We recommend levels of training dependent on age and ability, and expect our members to participate within these boundaries.”
To support our COVID policy statement we are committed to the following:
Access to the club forecourt shall be limited to a maximum of 6 people.
Access to the Kayak store shall be limited to 2 people at any time.
Access to the Club Hut shall be limited to 1 person at any time and where possible should be limited to 1 member per session.
Hand Sanitizer, Disinfectant and Gloves will be available inside the hut.
The member accessing the hut will record the names of paddlers in the club register for each day's paddle.
The member accessing the hut will use gloves and pass the necessary equipment to other members who will remain outside of the hut.
Paddle shafts and bouyancy aid buckles will be disinfected after use.
The member accessing the hut will use gloves to return equipment to the hut after use.
Members will launch in groups of no more than six
Club paddles may have no more than 30 paddlers (Socially distanced).
Canoes should only be used in ‘Bubbles’
Rescues if possible should be performed in ‘Bubbles’ but all club members are expected to assist if required.
AS A CLUB MEMBER YOU HAVE A DUTY TO:
Ensure you maintain Social distancing at all times whilst travelling to sessions and at the water's edge both prior to and after paddling.
Maintain social distancing whilst on the water where possible.
Follow government guidelines on social distancing and hand washing prior to arrival.
Where a rescue cannot be performed by a members ‘Bubble’ you will provide assistance.
Minimise contact with sharted equipment.
